Villa Capra is an 18th-century mansion positioned just a 5-minute stroll from the centre of Como along the city's panoramic lakeside promenade. Known as one of the "Seven Sisters of Como," this historic property underwent a 3-year restoration completed in 2009, preserving its original frescoes whilst adding modern conveniences including air conditioning, high-speed internet, an 8-person elevator serving all 4 floors, and a fully equipped gym and dance studio. Milan Malpensa Airport is approximately 1 hour by car.
The villa's private gate opens directly onto the Passeggiata Villa Olmo, Como's celebrated lakefront promenade that runs along the water's edge—guests step through the gate and find themselves immediately on the lakeside walkway. Restaurants, supermarkets, and bars in Como's historic centre are within easy reach, and Lido Villa Olmo beach is a 3-minute walk away. Ferries depart multiple times daily to the villages scattered along the lake, or a private boat with skipper can be arranged for exploring at leisure. The services of a driver on call Monday to Saturday are available at additional cost.
The main villa is distributed across 4 levels connected by elevator. The ground floor comprises the gym, a dance studio suitable for classes or treatments, and a guest bathroom with shower. The first floor contains the principal living spaces: a dining room with access to a terrace overlooking the garden, a TV room, a fully equipped kitchen, a guest WC, and 1 twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom. From the terrace, stairs lead directly to the garden and pool. The second floor has 5 bedrooms: the Master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and large ensuite bathroom featuring shower, bathtub, and double washbasins; the Yellow bedroom with double bed, single bed, and ensuite bathroom with bathtub; the White bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower; and 2 family rooms (Green and Beige) with double beds sharing a bathroom with walk-in shower—this is the only step-free accommodation with a low mobility friendly accessible shower. The attic level has 2 further bedrooms, each with double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower.
The walled garden is enclosed by hedges to provide privacy, with a swimming pool at its centre and sun loungers for relaxation. The garden enjoys views towards the lake, with the promenade and water just beyond the private gate. Upon request, direct garden access from the road can be arranged, providing step-free access to the pool area. Breakfast is served in the dining room.
A separate Rustic Apartment is also available, located on the same property but with its own private entrance and courtyard from a side street. The apartment comprises a living area, dining table, and kitchen, plus 3 bedrooms—a master with ensuite bathroom, 1 with smaller double bed suitable for 1 adult or 2 children, and another bedroom with twin beds—and 2 shared bathrooms. The Rustic Apartment can be rented together with the main villa for larger groups.
