Masseria Porto Cesareo is a restored masseria set in the Salento countryside near Leverano, once a flower market and now a privately rentable estate combining traditional Puglian architecture with contemporary European design. The property accommodates 18 guests across 9 bedrooms. Brindisi Airport is around 50 minutes by car.
The estate sits on the edge of the Ionian coast, where the water shifts between shades of turquoise and deep blue and the shoreline alternates between long sandy beaches and rocky coves of exceptional clarity. Porto Cesareo, a small resort town at the centre of a protected marine area, is around 6 minutes by car, with the nearest beach around 10 minutes away; the wilder sands further along the coast towards Punta Prosciutto are among the finest in southern Italy. Inland, Leverano is known for its wine production — the Conti Zecca estate, one of Salento's most respected producers of Negroamaro and Primitivo, lies nearby — and the baroque city of Lecce, whose carved limestone churches and palazzi reward a full day of exploration, is around 35 minutes to the east.
The masseria was renovated with a pronounced design sensibility, its interiors drawing on Nordic and Belgian influences whilst preserving the original architectural bones of the building. An open living space leads into a smaller adjoining room conceived as a resonance chamber, its acoustic properties a deliberate architectural gesture; a striking chandelier anchors the space. Throughout, furniture has been selected with collector's care — including a chair produced using 3D printing — alongside original artworks. A professionally equipped kitchen allows for full chef service, with meals prepared on request by a team from a Michelin-starred Lecce restaurant. A high-end audio system runs throughout the property, and all bedrooms are air-conditioned.
The estate's outdoor swimming pool is among the largest private pools in the Salento region, surrounded by sunbeds and outdoor dining and relaxation areas. A private spa on the ground floor comprises an indoor heated Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, and massage room with sensory showers. The garden features the Orto Sinergico Circolare — a circular kitchen garden where vegetables, flowers, and wild plants grow in a single symbiotic system — alongside a barbecue area and table tennis. A helipad is available for arrival and departure. On-site staff, including housekeepers and a dedicated concierge, are present throughout each stay.
