Masseria Antica is a 9-bedroom estate set within 26 hectares of olive groves in the Puglian countryside, near the hilltop town of Ostuni. The property comprises an antique masseria and a contemporary villa, connected by an underground passageway. The estate accommodates up to 18 guests across the 2 buildings. Brindisi Airport is approximately 35 minutes away, and the Adriatic beaches of Marina di Ostuni are around 15 minutes by car.
Ostuni—the White City—rises on a hill just 20 minutes from the property, its whitewashed houses and baroque churches visible for miles across the surrounding plain of ancient olive trees. The Adriatic coast here alternates between long sandy beaches backed by protected dunes and smaller rocky coves with clear water; Torre Guaceto, a WWF marine reserve with some of the region's finest snorkelling, is within easy reach. Inland, the trulli-studded landscape around Alberobello and Locorotondo rewards an afternoon's exploration, while the wine country around Salice Salentino and Manduria offers tastings of Primitivo and Negroamaro. For a full day out, Lecce—known for its extravagant baroque architecture—is around an hour to the south.
The main villa features high-vaulted ceilings and large arched windows throughout. On the ground floor, a living room with TV opens through French windows onto the garden, with a kitchenette offering direct outdoor access. A hallway passage leads to the professional kitchen equipped with a wine cellar and a formal dining room, which in turn opens onto a covered terrace with additional round tables shaded by sail canopies. The first floor of this building contains a living room opening onto a private terrace, and a fully equipped kitchen with cooking island. The contemporary building includes a small living room with fireplace, a TV room, and 2 study rooms—one on the lower ground floor and one on the first floor—both with desks and views over the pool. A piano is available in the main living areas. The heated indoor pool occupies the lower ground floor of the contemporary building, accompanied by a Turkish bath. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and mosquito nets are provided throughout the property.
The 4-hectare garden surrounds the buildings, planted with olive trees and offering multiple terraces for alfresco dining. A swimming pool is accompanied by a pool house with covered dining area, barbecue, pizza oven, American fridge, dishwasher, outdoor shower, and guest bathroom. A professional tennis court—with equipment provided—can be converted into a 5-a-side football field. Table tennis and table football are available for guests of all ages. Parking is provided for up to 4 cars within the electric-gated grounds. A separate staff area is located on the lower ground floor of the contemporary building, with its own bathroom and shower.
