Casale Falecine is a restored Tuscan farmhouse set within the rolling hills of Montaione, in the stretch of countryside that lies between Volterra, San Gimignano, and the Val d'Elsa. The property accommodates 10 guests across 5 bedrooms on 3 floors. Florence, Siena, and Pisa are each within roughly an hour by car, with several of the region's most visited medieval towns considerably closer.
The hamlet of Castelfalfi, just minutes away, provides an immediate anchor for the stay — restaurants, a spa, and a 27-hole championship golf course sit within the grounds of the estate that surrounds it, all accessible by car in moments. San Gimignano, whose towers rise from the ridge above the Elsa valley, is a short drive away and repays an afternoon's wandering through its lanes and wine shops; Volterra, quieter and perched dramatically above the surrounding plain, offers Etruscan museums and medieval streets with rather fewer visitors. The vineyards of the Chianti Classico zone are within comfortable reach for day trips, and the medieval streets of Certaldo — birthplace of Boccaccio — are also close by.
The interior has been renovated to preserve the character of the original farmhouse whilst adding contemporary comfort throughout. The living room centres on a stone fireplace with seating arranged around it, alongside a billiard table, piano, and flat-screen television; a wine cellar stocked with local Tuscan wines provides a natural gathering point for tastings at the end of the day. The kitchen is built around the original hearth — a feature that gives the room its warmth — and is fully equipped for independent cooking or for use with a private chef, who can be arranged on request. Starlink satellite internet runs throughout the property, providing fast and reliable connectivity indoors and out. Dining is accommodated both inside and on the covered terrace, with seating for 10 at both.
The 12x6-metre private pool occupies a terrace cut into the hillside, with sun loungers set on the lawn and views across the surrounding countryside. A barbecue and table tennis table complete the outdoor facilities, and private parking for up to 3 cars is available within the property. The garden and terraced grounds provide space for children to move freely, and a telescope on site adds a quiet attraction for evenings when the sky is clear.
