Once home to Felice Matteucci, the inventor of the first stroke engine, this luxury villa rental in Lucca holds a wealth of history, tradition and culture within its walls. Now fully renovated to the highest standards, Casa Matteucci is immersed in vast gardens overlooking a small lake with its own tree-shaded island reached by a wooden bridge.

The beautiful swimming pool and superb alfresco dining area with barbecue and romantic jasmine gazebo is the ideal spot to relax after a day exploring the many attractions that this part of Tuscany has to offer. From Lucca with its Medieval walls and towers, to the leaning tower of Pisa; from the glamorous streets of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio, to the museums, churches and fancy restaurants of Florence, there is always something to do within a short drive.

The first floor of this elegant villa for rent in Tuscany can accommodate up to 14 guests in seven spacious double bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has twin beds that can also be made into a double and one is located on the ground floor.

Located in the Vorno Valley, at the foot of Monte Pisano, the villa is a paradise for bike lovers which can easily explore the surrounding on two wheels and enjoying riding along Lucca’s Medieval walls.
